Loftus, of Jamestown, passed away last Saturday evening, September 22nd, after an illness of several months. The cause of her death was what is known to medical science as angina pectoris. It is an acute heart affliction, and in this instance was caused by an attack of whooping cough and measles. She had been suffering for a long time, and had to give up her studies in school, finally became confined to the house and later was unable to leave her bed. She gradually became weaker and the attacks of heart trouble became stronger, and nothing known to the science of medicine could give relief. Lillian was a sweet little girl and was a general favorite among the members of the family and with all who knew her. She was the youngest child in the family and was fairly worshiped by her older sisters and brothers. She was born march 1, 1909, and was 8 years, 6 months and 21 days old when the summons came. Funeral services were held at the St. Mary's church in this city, Wednesday morning. The services were conducted by Rev. Father Hennessy, pastor of the Catholic church. Master Edward Fitzgerald and Master Joseph Francoeur served Father Hennessy at Mass, and the Requiem Mass was sung by a choir from Concordia. The body was laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery near Jamestown. There were many very beautiful floral tributes from relatives, friends of the family, and from Lillian's little schoolmates. The little girls from the Third Grade attended the funeral in a body.
