She was married to F. D. Kimble 11 May 1898. To this union were born 5 daughters and one son; one daughter, Vada, passed away at the age of three. The husband preceded her in death 23 Jul 1946, just five months after their retirement from the farm northwest of Downs, to a beautiful home in town. Here they were enjoyed together the fruits of hard labor when death took her companion, as stated above. Lillie, as she was so familiarly called, never tired of life, always enjoying her home, her friends and her church, often attending social functions when it seemed to her friends she was too ill to do so. She was a great reader and kept up on the leading quiestions of the day up until her last short illness. She was never too busy to help a neighbor, and was often called upon to help in sickness. Always of a cheerfull nature, her presence was always felt, and her death removes one from a large sphere of usefullness, and on who held a large place in the hearts of all who knew her. The memory of this noble and beautiful life will be an inspriation and a comfort to the fine family of children who are left to mourn their loss, but who will always cherish the memory of a kind and loving mother. The chacater of the pioneer parents are outstanding when one looks into the face of their fine family of children who are all popular citizens of Downs and nearby communities. Mrs. Kimble was a life-long member of the Methodist Church of Downs and a charter member of the St. Paul Guards class. The children are Mrs. Ethel Headley, Olin Kimble, and Mrs. Lucile VanderGiesen, all of Downs; Mrs. Letha Getty, Almena; and Mrs. Bernice Megli, Glen Elder, Ks. She also leaves four brothers, Frank Fink, Hamilton, Mo; Albert Fink, Topeka, Ks.; Clarence Fink, Downs, and Floyd Fink, Hutchinson, Ks.; 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Sunday, and burial in the Downs Cemetery, Downs, Kansas.
