Read More	Times Newspaper Mooresville, Indiana March 12, 1936 LILLIE BRANCH DIES TUESDAY; RITES ARE CONDUCTED THURSDAY Well Known Local Woman Succumbs; Was Active in Business, Church and Social Affairs Mrs. Lillie Branch, widely known Mooresville woman, died at the home of her sister, Miss Laura Thurman, on East Harrison street, about 10:15 o'clock Tuesday morning. Although she has been in poor health for almost a year, suffering from kidney and heart ailments, death came suddenly and was a shock to the community. She was in bed for a long time during the fall, and then returned to her work at the Haltom-Scearce company for five weeks. She suffered a relapse, however, and continued to weaken, until two weeks ago when her condition became critical. Mrs. Branch was born near Mooresville, the daughter of Pleas and Mary Thurman, and had lived in this community all her life. She has been associated with the Comer-Scearce, Hubbard-Scearce, and Haltom-Scearce Lumber companies for approximately 32 years, and it was in this business that she met the public daily and became known in many sectors of the state. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, and was active in the Likely club and Mooresville Nature Study club. Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the home with Rev. A. M. Brown, pastor of the M.E. church and the Rev. Elmer St. Clair in charge. Burial was in Mooresville cemetery. Pall bearers were Walter Edwards, Arthur Haltom, Denzil Carpenter, R. D. Sellars, Will Henley, and Frank Sheets. Miss Thurman is the only immediate survivor. Mrs. Branch's husband, Harry Branch, having been dead about 30 years.
