Description	:	Coon Rapids Enterprise Aug. 19, 1955 Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today from the Coder-Anderson funeral home for Otis Coder, who died at his home here Wednesday morning. He had been in failing health since suffering a heart attack four years ago. The Rev Ray Hays will be officiating clergyman. Interment will be in the Coon Rapids cemetery. Mrs. Delbert Ford and Mrs, Roswell Jordan will sing "Whispering Hope" and "Ivory Palaces," accompanied by Mrs. Russell Newcomm. Obituary Otis Coder was born Aug. 22, 1881, at Carroll, Iowa, the son of Uriah George Coder and Sarah Ann Hampton. He moved North Dakota with his parents in 1906, where he lived until moving to Coon Rapids in 1933. Mr. Coder worked as a hard ware sales clerk until 1926 when he purchased a recreation parlor, which he operated until he moved to a farm northwest of town. He sold the farm in 1947 After living in California for a short time, he returned) to Iowa and worked for the Production Marketing Administration at Carroll until he suffered a heart attack June 3, 1953. He has been in failing health since. Four months of that time was spent as patient in St. Anthony hospital at Carroll Mr. Coder was married Aug. 25, 1937, to Gena Olson at Carroll. Surviving are one son, Donald F. Coder of Chicago, Ill.; a brother, Mannie of Coon Rapids and his wife, Gena. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother, and his former wife, Amanda Olson Coder, whom he married July 4, 1921. She passed away May 14, 1935.
