Until his unexpected death, he served his last five years as Webster County Commissioner. Leetsch Lloyd Nelson Leetsch, son of William H. and Sarah Nelson Leetsch, was born June 9, 1902, in Webster County and died at the Webster County Community Hospital, Red Cloud, Nebraska on Saturday, July 30, 1969 He resided his entire life in Webster County and was employed most of his working years by the Federal and County government. Until his unexpected death, he served his last five years as Webster County Commissioner. He was baptized in the Oak Creek Presbyterian Church of Rosemont of which he was a life long member and served the congregation faithfully as deacon and elder. On February 4, 1925 he was united in marriage to Emma Frieda Lampmann. To this union were born six children five daughters and one son. Lloyd Nelson Leetsch was a good husband and father and a fine man to know as a friend and neighbor. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five sisters. Thos mourning his unexpected death are his wife Emma, daughters, La Delle Shidler of Port Orchard, Washington, Delma Carr of Glenwood, Illinois, La Nora Shay of Hastings. Letha Kral of Bladen, Alyce Rae Willey of Hastings, and son Lloyd F. Leetsch of Kearney; Nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one brother, Don of Guide Rock and four sisters, Elva Woods and Bernice Maruska of Blue Hill, Vera Harrington of Ogallala, and Mable Mapes of Sahland, Oregon: and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 30, 1969 at 1:30 p.m. from the Blue Hill Funeral Chapel and at 2:00 p.m. from the Oak Creek Presbyterian Church, Rosemont, with the Rev. J.M. Strong officiating. Music for the service was by Margie Lockhart, organist and Alice Mae Bishop, vocalist. Songs were “Will There Be Any Stars?” and “Just A Closer Walk With Thee.” Pallbearers were: Merten Baker, Ernest Johson, James Maruska, Wilbur Krueger, Roy Wilhelms and C.J. Hetherington. Burial was at the Blue Hill Cemetery with Merten-Butler Funeral Home, Blue Hill in charge. Blue Hill Leader 31 Jul 1969
