Funeral Services will be held Monday, September 16, 2013 at 10:30 AM at the Clutier Community Church with Pastor James Perry officiating. Interment will follow at Oneida Cemetery in rural Clutier. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 4-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Lois was born on March 24, 1920 at the family farm north of Clutier, Iowa. She was the second daughter of Elmer and Hilda (Knoop) Hora. She graduated from Clutier High in 1937. After graduation from Iowa State Teacher's College in Cedar Falls, she taught elementary grades in the following schools, Geneseo, Hubbard, Parkersburg, Oelwein, Grundy Center and Clutier. On January 17, 1948, she was united in marriage to Leonard "Bill" Hamann of Reinbeck. The couple made their home on a farm near Grundy Center and later on the family farm north of Clutier. Lois taught at Clutier, before and after the death of her husband in 1969. On December 27, 1977, she was united in marriage to Charles Linville and lived in rural Montour. They moved to Toledo in 1989 and traveled extensively to visit their children and grandchildren in various states. For many years, Lois and her sister Luella "Lolly" entertained at Clutier Alumni School Banquets and also sang for weddings and funerals. She was a charter member of the Clutier Community Church, where she taught Sunday School and was active in the WCF group. Later, she attended Montour Living Faith United Methodist Church where she sang with the choir. She was also a member of the Clutier Auxiliary group. She treasured her family and will be fondly remembered for her happy disposition and support of neighbors and friends, and her fried chicken and chocolate chip cookies. Left to cherish her memory is her daughters, Susan (Dan) Schultz of Stillwater, MN and Dr. Cynthia Hamann of Baltimore, MD; her son, Tim Hamann of Cedar Falls; seven step-children, Diane Giesenberg of Toledo, Susan (Bill Wrede) Hughes of Tama, Duane Linville of Anthem, Arizona, Linda (Steve) Rosenberger of Tama, Mary (Steve) Scharnweber of Pierre, SD, Amy (Tim) Prusha of Marshalltown and Beth (Doug) Manfull of Rushford, MN; her beloved twenty-one grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; her sister, Lolly Hora of Clutier; and a host of friends. Preceding Lois in death were her parents; her husbands. Leonard and Charles; one step-son, Gary Linville; and two stepsons-in-law, Frank Hughes and Leon Giesenberg.
