Description	:	Lois Madge Abbott Phelps Hansen, 65, of Vinton died early Monday a.m. September 16, 1985 in Virginia Gay Hospital in Vinton after a brief illness. She was born in Benton County on December 26, 1919 and was the daughter of Arnie and Elsie Brown Abbott. She had married James Phelps in 1937 in Missouri. Mr. Phelps died in March 1957. In 1964 she married Leland (Dutch) Hansen in 1964. Mr. Hansen died December 19, 1984. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, three brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by one son, Mahlon and his wife Carol of Vinton; three sisters, Mrs. Ray (Ila) Dierfield and Mrs. Robert (Iris) Walter, both of Waterloo and Nancy Abbott of Vinton; two brothers, Earl Abbott of Vinton and Arnie Abbott of Elk Run Heights; five grandchildren, James, Thomas, Tamara, Michelle, and Melissa and one great-grandchild, Kellie Phelps. funeral services will be at Campbell-Russell Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 18, 1:30 p.m., Rev. James McCutchan of First Assembly of God Church in Vinton will conduct the service. Burial will be in the Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
