She was born March 8, 1915, in Stokes County to William M. and Dollie M. Simmons. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Simmons Primitive Baptist Church and a devoted housewife. She is survived by a son, Leon Taylor, of Winston-Salem; three daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Jean Pedger of Rural Hall, Jerry Lynn Penn of Rural Hall and Yvonne Conrad and husband, Lonnie, of Winston-Salem; 24 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers;... Simmons. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Simmons Primitive Baptist Church and a devoted housewife. She is survived by a son, Leon Taylor, of Winston-Salem; three daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Jean Pedger of Rural Hall, Jerry Lynn Penn of Rural Hall and Yvonne Conrad and husband, Lonnie, of Winston-Salem; 24 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers; and five sisters. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Burnest Alto Taylor; two sons, James K. Taylor and R.L. Taylor; four brothers; and a sister. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Simmons Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Carl Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. The family wishes to express special thanks to Willie Mae Hairston for all her faithful support. The Taylor family is being served by Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain.
