Killip, who had lived among them for 65 years. Her friendly jovial spirit endeared her to everyone. Lola Belle Snodgrass was born on March 16, 1872 in Edinburg, Christian Co., Illinois and passed away at her home in Beaver Crossing on January 10,1945 at the age of 72 years, 9 months, 24 days. She came to Nebraska with her parents when 5 years of age. They settled on a farm southeast of Beaver Crossing and with the exception of two years, have lived in the community the rest of her life. On February 18, 1896 she was married to William C. Killip. Mrs. Killip has not enjoyed the blessing of good health for the past 35 years. During these years she suffered greatly at times particularly in the latter part of her life. They sought relief for her from various sources but found none. They might have found it through change of climate, but she loved her home and said that she would rather be here with her friends and loved ones, even though it would shorten her life and going to another climate might prolong it. Only a week ago she became seriously ill and on Wednesday afternoon she was released from her suffering. Surviving are her husband, Wm. C. Killip; 5 sisters, Mrs. Ada Smith of Seward, Mrs. Viola Green of Lincoln, Mrs. Nettie Hansen of Beaver Crossing, Mrs. Fred Meridith of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mrs. William Hocking of Seward; two brothers, Elmer Snodgrass of Friend, and Edmond of Cedar Falls, Iowa, besides other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Methodist Church, Rev. E. W. Price officiating. Mrs. Mark Whitnah and Mrs. Harry Anderson sang three hymns, "One Sweetly Solemn Thought," "When They Ring the Golden Bells" and "God Will Take care of You" accompanied by Mrs. E, W. Price. The pall bearers were Bob Ferguson, Walter Hansen and Dale Carr of Beaver Crossing, Lloyd Smith of Seward, Milo Bowman and C. Blanchard of Friend.
