Description	:	OBITUARY--MRS. E.J. STEBBINS Loretta May Rathbun, daughter of Robert and Marette Rathbun, was born near Lodi, Wisconsin, April 17 1866. Just a few years later her parents moved to Scott township, Fayette County, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. While at this place she pursued a course in music at Upper iowa University. STEBBINS Loretta May Rathbun, daughter of Robert and Marette Rathbun, was born near Lodi, Wisconsin, April 17 1866. Just a few years later her parents moved to Scott township, Fayette County, Iowa, where she grew to womanhood. While at this place she pursued a course in music at Upper iowa University. Afterwards she taught music for several years in the vicinity of her home. While teaching she acted as organist at the Centenary methodist Episcopal Church and was deeply interested in all the phases of its activities. On March 7, 1900, she was united in marriage to Elmer J. Stebbins; and they immediately located at 205 5 1/2 Street N.E. where they had erected their home in our city. Interested in church work at Centenary it was only natural for her on coming to Oelwein to transfer her membership to the Grace Methodist church where she with her husband were usually present at the morning and evening services and loyally supported the program of their church. On the morning of June 19th, 1935, she passed away at her home, 206 Second Avenue NE, leaving a devoted husband, two brothers: Frank C. and Louis C. and one sister Lula A. and a nephew Robert F. and other relatives and many friends. She was a woman who was loving, kind, courteous, neighborly, and loyal and faithful to the finer things of life. Her last services were held at the Methodist Episcopal church at two-thirty o'clock, Friday June 21st, conducted by her pastor Rev. J. B. Ackman. Internment was at Woodlawn cemetery.
