She was 80. Born March 25, 1936 in Price, Maryland, she was the twin sister of the late Loretta Cook, daughter of the late Elizabeth Stant and Tilghman Cook. She was 80. Born March 25, 1936 in Price, Maryland, she was the twin sister of the late Loretta Cook, daughter of the late Elizabeth Stant and Tilghman Cook. Lorraine was raised in Queenstown, Maryland, and went on to attend Centreville High School. She married David Hunter on November 19, 1955. They resided in Grasonville for over sixty years. Mrs. Lorraine worked at the original Fisherman's Inn as a server. Later, she worked for the Perfect Garment Factory in Grasonville until it closed. Lorraine was like a second mother to many of her nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. She also helped care for other close family and friends for many years. She loved crabbing, fishing, and canning vegetables. She also enjoyed crocheting. She was a member of the Immanuel United Methodist Church of Grasonville, Maryland. Lorraine is survived by caregivers Linda and Wayne Melvin, Janet and Bill Akers, Ilene and Jimmy Melvin, Judy and Tommy Edelheit, and Shugie Gill, and many more loving nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her thirteen brothers and sisters, as well as her husband, David L. Hunter, who died in 2014. A memorial service will be held Monday, July 25 at 11:00 AM at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. in Chester, MD, with a visitation from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. The burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery. Pall bears will be Donald Melvin, Billy McMahon, Billy Jones, Jordon Melvin, Jason Lamb, Christopher Servera.
