She was united in marriage to Perry G. Thrapp on Jan. 9, 1901, at Hastings. Four children were born to this couple. Mrs. Thrapp has been a life-long resident of the Emerson community until the past few years when it had been necessary for her to reside in Red Oak because of an extended illness. The daughter of James Albert and Clara Frances Shook. She was the third of twelve children. She was united in marriage to Perry G. Thrapp on Jan. 9, 1901, at Hastings. Four children were born to this couple. Mrs. Thrapp has been a life-long resident of the Emerson community until the past few years when it had been necessary for her to reside in Red Oak because of an extended illness. Mrs. Thrapp passed away June 25, at the Murphy Memorial Hospital in Red Oak at the age of 83. She has been a member of the Champion Hill Presbyterian Church of many years. Hers has been a deep and abiding faith in her Lord and Saviour often she h a s witnessed to her family and friends of this faith. Mrs. Thrapp was proceeded in death by her husband in 1955; One son, Faye; Three sisters, Mrs. Fern Snodgrass, Mrs. Viola Sowers, Mrs. Mrs. Bertha Silkett; Four brothers, Frank, Glen and Clyde & a brother who died in infancy. She is survived by-two sons, Ward of Clarinda and Ernest of Red Oak; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Dailey of Shenandoah; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three brothers, Ivan Shook of Emerson and Earl and Elbridge Shook of Red Oak; a sister, Mrs. Ada Miller of Red Oak and a great number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Nelson Chapel in Red Oak, with Rev. Richard Person. Malvern Leader, Thursday, June 30, 1966
