Description	:	Sarah Lottie Tawes Mrs. Lottie S. Tawes, age 61, died at the home of her mother, Mrs. N.W. Tawes, in this city on Sunday, November 4th, from a complication of diseases. Mrs. Tawes was twice married her first husband being the late Elmer E. Lawson. Her second husband was Captain John Tawes who preceded her in death several years ago. Mrs.... Read More	Sarah Lottie Tawes Mrs. Lottie S. Tawes, age 61, died at the home of her mother, Mrs. N.W. Tawes, in this city on Sunday, November 4th, from a complication of diseases. Mrs. Tawes was twice married her first husband being the late Elmer E. Lawson. Her second husband was Captain John Tawes who preceded her in death several years ago. After the death of Captain Tawes, Mrs. Tawes spent several months in the Panama Canal Zone with her sister. Since that time she had made her home with her mother, Mrs. N.W. Tawes, in this city. Mrs. Tawes was a devout Christian and was affiliated with Asbury M.E. Church where she had been a member for several years. She was very active in church work and took quite a great deal of interest in its important affairs. She was a woman who made many friends due to her congenial nature and her desire to help those less fortunate than herself. She was a sweet character possessing a lovable disposition which made for her a wide circle of friends who mourn her loss. She was a member of one of Crisfield's oldest and most prominent families. Her's was the first death which has occurred among the children in this large family for the past sixty years, all of her brothers and sisters are still living. This is indeed a remarkable coincidence as not many families have been so fortunate. She is survived by her mother, Mrs. N.W. Tawes, four brothers and four sisters, who are, Mr. James B. Tawes, Mr. O.L. Tawes, Mr. Vernon Tawes, of Crisfield, and Mr. Howard Tawes, of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Lillie M. Sterling, Mrs. Theodocia Ward, Mrs. Effie Gerald, of Crisfield, and Mrs. Ruth Tawes, of Panama Canal Zone. Funeral services were held from the home of her mother on the following Wednesday at 2:00 P. M. conducted by Rev. J.W. Rowlenson, assisted by Rev. John J. Bunting. Interment was made in Asbury Cemetery. The Crisfield Times, Crisfield, Maryland, Friday, November 16, 1934, p. 1
