DOSHIA WARD'S FUNERAL ON SUNDAY Mrs. Theodosia Ward, one of the community's best known and most highly respected matrons, died suddenly at her home on Asbury Avenue early yesterday, Thursday morning. She was 78 years of age. Mrs. Ward had been in ill health for about a year, and her death was discovered by Mrs. Miller, who resides with Mrs. Alice Tawes, next door to Mrs. Ward's home, and Miss Sallie Sterling, a niece of Mrs. Ward, who went to the home to see Mrs. Ward. She was the daughter of the late N. Wesley and Eugenia Cox Tawes, members of old Somerset county families, and the widow of the late former Mayor William E. Ward, of Crisfield. Mrs. Ward was a lady of unusually fine personality, who all her life had been interested in religious work and in helping others. She had taught Sunday School classes for many years both in Asbury Methodist Church and Immanuel Methodist Church, and was a member of various church organizations, and was constant in her attendance at church services and meetings. She was a member of Immanuel Methodist Church. She had been much interested in younger people, and in many ways helped many of them. She believed in the Golden Rule and practiced it. Her circle of friends and acquaintances was large, and anyone who knew Mrs. "Doshia" held her in deep regard and real affection. She was a fine person in every way. Funeral services will be conducted from her home on Asbury Avenue on Sunday afternoon at 2:30, with Rev. A.B. Frye, pastor of Immanuel Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Ward family lot in Asbury cemetery. She is survived by one brother, Mr. Thomas H. Tawes of Miami, Fla., two sisters, Mrs. George V. Tawes of Santa Monica, Calif., and Mrs. Effie Gerald of Crisfield, and several nieces and nephews.
