Read More	Link to mother sent by SJW (#46933521) ******************** Minneapolis Messenger, Thursday, Aug. 7, 1941, page 5: Obituary Louis Harper, son of Wilburn and Anna Poelma Harper, was born the 29th day of January, 1874, in Beloit, Kansas, and departed from this life the 29th day of July, 1941, at the age of 67 years, and 6 months. He was baptized in infancy in the Catholic Church at Beloit, and grew to manhood in that vicinity. At the age of 23 he was united in marriage to Eunice J. Wilson on the 16th day of February, 1897. Six children were born to this union. He was engaged in farming in various vicinities in the central part of Kansas. In about the year of 1920 he became interested in road construction and in this occupation he continued until the time of his death. In the year of 1922 he moved to Oakley, Kansas, and since then has made his home there. On the 23rd day of July just past, not feeling well, he came home from work an hour early. During the next three days he was up and around. On Sunday he remained in bed suffering from an attack of the "flu." On Monday evening he suddenly developed pneumonia, and the next morning was rushed to St. Anthony's Hospital at Hays, Kansas. There, in the afternoon at four o'clock, he departed this life. A kind and loving husband and father leaves to mourn his departure his wife; four sons, Wilburn and Louis Harold of Tescott, Robert Dale of Scott City, and Roy of Colby; two daughters, Nellie Rasmussen of Tescott, and Hazel Batcheller of Scott City; six grandsons and one granddaughter, several other relatives, and a host of friends.
