Harper, son of Louis Harper and Eunice Wilson Harper, was born May 19, 1898, in Beloit, Kansas, and died December 13, 1973 at the age of 75. At an early age he moved with his parents to Tescott, where he farmed most of his life. On September 19, 1919, Wilburn was married to Bernice Gourley and to this union one son, Donald, was born. Mr. Harper was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Lions Club and the Tescott Saddle Club. He loved his home, family and community and was loved by all who knew him. Preceding him in death were his wife, Bernice, his father, Louis, his sister, Hazel, and a brother, Harold. He is survived by his mother, Eunice Harper, of Minneapolis, his son Donald of Lake View, Iowa; four grandchildren and one great-grandson; a sister, Mrs. Nellie Rasmussen of Tescott and two brothers, Roy of Winona and Dale of Scott City. Funeral services were held Monday, December 17 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Tescott with the Rec. C.D. Boese and Pastor Fred J. Downing officiating. Organist was Mrs. Theda Nelson. Soloist was Mr. keith Bacon. Interment was at Franklin cemetery in Tescott. The Haley Funeral Home in Minneapolis had charge of the funeral arrangements.
