Mr. Frederick received his formal education at a country school near Odessa, later attending night school at Big Bend Community College for small engine repair and graduating at the top of his class. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. After he farmed as a young man on the Hoppe place near Coffee Pot Lake, Mr. Frederick moved into town and went to work for the Odessa Trading Co., where he was a warehouseman until his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents; by 4 brothers: Herman, Albert, Rudy and Karl; and by 3 sisters, Pauline Frederick, Ann Frederick and Mary Schoonover. Survivors include his wife, Golda; three sons: Leland Frederick of Sprague and Wayne Frederick and Ronald Frederick, both of Odessa; by a daughter, Shirley Worley, of Odessa; by a step-son, Dean Graves of Portland, OR; by a step-daughter, Jacque Sewall of Harrington; by a brother, William Frederick of Odessa; and by 23 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren, as well as by nieces and nephews. Funeral service for Mr. Frederick was held at Christ Lutheran Church on Jan 8, Pastor Daniel Cronrath officiating. Interment followed at Odessa Cemetery, Strate Funeral Home in charge. Casket bearers were Mark Worley, Mike Frederick, Jeff Frederick, Roger Frederick, Brad Frederick and Tim Sewall. Honorary bearers included David Frederick, Wesley Frederick, Stanley Wraspir, Herb Walter, Ed Zeiler and Roy Zeiler." (scrapbook item)
