Born in Kosciusko County to Glen and Nellie BUTTERBAUGH WALTHER, she married Blaine M. BOWEN on Oct. 10, 1937. He survives. Bowen graduated from Silver Lake High School in 1931. She worked as a nurses aide at Timbercrest Retirement Community in North Manchester from 1971-76. She was a former memb er of the North Manchester Garden Club, and a former member of the Wabash County Country Women's Club. She was a member of the First Brethren Church, North Manchester. Surviving with her husband are one son, Todd BOWEN, Fort Wayne; one daughter, Mrs. Richard (Karen) DAWSON, Fishers; one brother, Maurice WALTHER, Silver Lake; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester. The Rev. Kurt STOUT and the Rev. Marlin McCANN will officiate. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester. Visitation is from 1-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials should be made to the Kosciusko County Hospice or the First Brethren Church, North Manchester.
