Mrs. Ahrens died Tuesday in the Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital at the age of 74 years, 6 months and 29 days. Louise Emilie Wilhelmine Poppe was born April 19, 1913, to Carl and Frieda Peters Poppe. She was baptized May 4, 1913, and confirmed May 29, 1927, at St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ruskin. Oct. 16, 1932, she was married to Adolph Ahrens in St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ruskin. To this union five children were born. They lived and farmed for 21 years in Thayer and Nuckolls County. In 1953 they moved to the Superior area and she was employed at the Hill Top Cafe and Leprino until her retirement in 1977. Preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Deloris; great grandson, Russel; and brother, Martin. Survivors are her husband Adolph; sons, Delane Ahrens of Bossier City, La., Loren Ahrens of Superior, and Gary Ahrens of Fairoaks (sic), Calif.; daughter, Mrs. Will Brayshaw (Kathy), Omaha; sisters, Hanna Medcalf, San Jose, Calif.; Edna Sanders of Sacramento, Calif.; and Viola Rogge, Superior; brothers, Wilbert Poppe of Mountain Home, Ariz., Earl Poppe of Fort Collins, Colo., Donald Poppe of Byron and Larry Poppe of Port Orchard, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and many other relatives. The Rev. David Loeschen will officiate and interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
