They made their home in Columbus, Nebraska, where she worked in the accounting department at Montgomery Ward. When the couple moved to Omaha during World War II, Louise worked in the Time Keeping Department of the Glen L. Martin Airplane Factory. In June, 1945, they moved to Boone, Nebraska, where they operated Meridith's Cash Store & Produce from 1945 to 1978. Appointed Postmaster in May, 1958, Louise retired in 1983. Louise returned to Columbus in 1992; she moved to Elkhorn in 2011 to be closer to her family. Louise was a member of Order of Eastern Star and Shriners. She was a member of Royal Neighbors for more than 70 years, the National League of Postmasters for more than 50 years (Past President), as well as the National Association of Postmasters. She held membership in the National Association of Retired Federal Employees, the American Legion Auxiliary, and Auxiliary to Boone County VFW Post 736 (Past President). Louise was a long time member of the St. Edward Methodist Church and Women's Society of Christian Service where she held each elected office at least once. ...She was a Luzier Cosmetics consultant for 40 years, enjoyed ballroom dancing and square dancing, loved her e-mail friends and family, visits to the beauty salon, and her morning phone calls to Edie. Louise is greatly loved and hugely missed. Louise is survived by her sister, Edie, and Edie's children: Connie, Tom, Jeff, Steve, and Sandy, and their families; Millie's daughter, Patricia, and her family; Pauline's children: Ron, Mick, Ted, Gayle, and Kathy, and their families; Earl's nephew and nieces: Jim, Donna, Ella, Linda, and their families. Sid, and his wife, Sara; grandchildren Kristen and Michael, great-grandchildren Shea and Colton, Jordan and Taylor; also survive, as does her daughter-in-law-and-love, Lois Meridith.
