Mr. Meridith was born in Rural Retreat, Virginia, on August 21, 1909, the son of Claude and Ada Cormany Meridith. They moved to Boone County when he was young. Read More	. Earl Meridith, 76, of Boone died Thursday at the Montclair Hospice Center in Omaha. Mr. Meridith was born in Rural Retreat, Virginia, on August 21, 1909, the son of Claude and Ada Cormany Meridith. They moved to Boone County when he was young. He attended rural schools and was a 1928 graduate of Albion High School. He married Louise Holoubek on June 10, 1938, at Schuyler. He owned a general merchandise store in Boone from 1945 until his retirement in 1977. Mr. Meridith was a member of the St. Edward Methodist Church where he had served on the finance committee and was a past president of the Methodist Men. He was a member of the masonic Lodge, Sesotrois Shrine temple, Pawnee Shrine Club and Order of the Eastern Star. He was a past psresident of both the Nebraska Auxiliary to the National League of Postmasters and National Auxiliary to the National League of Postmasters. At the 1985 national convention of the Postmaster's Auxiliary he was awarded the honor as the National Auxiliary Member of the Year. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Forest, sister, Thelma, and an infant sister. Survivors are his wife, Louise, of Boone; son and daughter-in-law, Sidney and Lois Meridith, and grandchildren, Michael and Kristen, all of Omaha; nephews, nieces, and many friends.
