Description	:	Lt. Col. Henry Benjamin Holmes, III, was the son of Brigadier General Henry B. Holmes, Jr. and his wife Mary W. Holmes. He was the grandson of Minnie (Rodrick) and Henry B. Holmes, Sr. Col. Holmes had served in the Army for 22 years (signal and electronics officer) when he retired and joined the Virginia Military Institute faculty in Lexington, Virginia. At VMI, he was a lecturer in electrical engineering and faculty advisor for cadet activities. He died in Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C. and was buried in Stonewall Jackson Memorial Cemetery in Lexington.	Lt. Col.
