Parent relationship links also entered on this date. ------------- Wife of Leo Kepler, married Feb. 4, 1920 in Iowa City, Iowa. ------------- Obituaries: Fairfield Ledger Friday August 2, 1974 Pg. 8 Col. 1 & Fairfield Ledger Saturday August 3, 1974 Pg. 8 Col. 1 Mrs. Kepler Rites Set Funeral services for Mrs. Lucile Kepler, 78, will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff and her son, the Rev. Charles Kepler, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Members of the family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Raymond Runeral (sic. Funeral) Home. The casket will be taken to the church at 12:30 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Kepler died early Friday morning of an apparent heart attack at her home, 502 South D. Mrs. Lucile Kepler was born April 29, 1896 in Cedar Rapids. She was the daughter of Dr. C. E. and Lula Pollans Drummond. She attended Cornell and Parsons College. She was married to Leo Kepler Feb. 4, 1920, at Iowa City. He died July 3, 1967. Mrs. Kepler was a member of the United Methodist Church and was active in many of its services. She was a teacher of the Philathea Class and a life member of the United Methodist Women. She was a charter member of the Jefferson County Retired Teachers, National Retired Teachers Association, Hospital Auxiliary, Daughters of American Colonists, and Log Cabin Chapter of Daughters of American Revolution. Mrs. Kepler retired from teaching at the age of 70, having taught in Pleasant Plain, Stockport, Richland and Brighton schools. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Tom Fordyce, Muscatine; Mrs Laird Emry, Batavia; Mrs. Keith Ireland, Springfield, Mo.; and Mrs. George Richards, Alexander; one son, Rev. Charles Kepler, Elgin, Ill.; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. Three brothers, Charles E. Drummond, Atlanta, Ga.; Lummond (sic. Lumond) L. Drummond in Mexico; and Everett Drummond, Los Angeles, Calif., also survive. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one grandchild and a brother. The family would appreciate gifts to establish a memorial scholarship to assist ministerial students.
