PEPPERL, 82, of Burchard, Nebraska, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at the Pawnee Manor, Pawnee City, NE. She was born October 9, 1925, to Owen and Ota (Howard) Yarger, near Union Center, Nebraska. Lucile was one of six children, three brothers, and two sisters. She began her school years at Union Center Country school near Burchard, but she spent most of her school years in Pawnee City where she graduated from in 1942. Lucile worked at the S&G store in Pawnee after she graduated before marrying E.L. (Danny) Pepperl on August 17, 1944. She then moved to Burchard where she lived the remainder of her life until January of 2007 when she moved to the Pawnee Manor due to an injury. She and Danny had one child, Greg. After getting married, Lucile worked as a secretary at the ASC office in Pawnee City for many years before beginning a job at the Pawnee county Courthouse as Clerk of the district Court, where she got many awards for her work there. She liked working with the public and made many friends there. Lucile worked with the courts until she retired in 1988. After retiring she kept busy helping her husband Danny on their farm. She also enjoyed needlework such as crocheting and tatting. She made many beautiful quilts and comforters. She loved all of the holidays and always decorated inside her house for all of them. she liked to can fruits and vegetables and make homemade jams and jellies. Lucile enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She also loved to collect old dishes and plates but she was an avid Beanie Baby collector and had almost 200 of them. She took care of her husband for many years when he became ill with Alzheimer's until she could no longer handle him alone, then she spent most of her days visiting him at the nursing home until his death in 2000. She liked to just sit on the front porch and visit with people passing by and enjoyed the flowers her daughter-in-law always planted for her each spring. Lucile was preceded in death by her parents Ota and Owen Yarger, two of her brothers, Kenneth and Robert Yarger, and her husband Danny. She is survived by her two sisters, Joyce Arington and husband Harlan of Lincoln, NE, and Wanda Bayly and husband Richard of Fresno, CA; her brother Larry and wife Shirley of Milwaukee, Oregon; her son Greg and wife Deb of Burchard, NE; plus many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Cremation, no visitation. Internment will be in Pawnee City Cemetery, Pawnee City Nebraska. Memorials may be give to the Family's Choice.
