Description	:	Lucille A Matteson was one of three children born to Joseph E Matteson & Maude A Holbrook. She was born May 22, 1903 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. She had two brothers: Joseph Dewitt & Lynn Holbrook also born in New Mexico. Maude & her children moved to Oregon by 1910 census, Maude's parents, Lucille's grandparents, lived there. Lucille's father did not move back to Oragon, he moved to California & died there in1950. By 1920, Lucille was 16 & her mother had remarried, so they had a step-father, they lived in Sacramento, CA. Lucille... Read More	Lucille A Matteson was one of three children born to Joseph E Matteson & Maude A Holbrook. She was born May 22, 1903 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. She had two brothers: Joseph Dewitt & Lynn Holbrook also born in New Mexico. Maude & her children moved to Oregon by 1910 census, Maude's parents, Lucille's grandparents, lived there. Lucille's father did not move back to Oragon, he moved to California & died there in1950. By 1920, Lucille was 16 & her mother had remarried, so they had a step-father, they lived in Sacramento, CA. Lucille was married to her first husband by 1921, his name was Richard A Harrison, they had a son the following year who was named: Richard Dewitt Harrison. Obviously, the Dewitt was taken from her brother's Joseph Dewitt Matteson name. Richard Sr. & Lucille were divorced after the 1930 census, they lived with er mother & stepfather. In the 1940 census, Lucille was a Seamstress & said she was marked widowed. This is an error, she was actually divorced by that year. As far as I can recollect, she was an active seamstress for many decades. Lucille did not remarry until 1941 when she met & married Fred Ray Collins, he had been a "boarder" at her mother's home. They also had a son together in 1944 & named him: Terrance (Terry) Laurel Collins. They remained married until their deaths. (Contributed by Kayla (Winn) Snyder - Nov 2015)
