Luella (Lou) entered the world on August 31, 1922 in Pocahontas County. She was the tenth of eleven children, born to George and Louisa (Rudolph) Alig in Pocahontas County. She attended Sacred Heart School in Pocahontas and graduated from Ware School in 1940. She was baptized, confirmed, married, anointed and received her first communion and confession at Sacred Heart Church (Church of the Resurrection) in Pocahontas. ... Read More	From Her OBIT: Luella Pearl (Alig)Vodraska (96), was reunited with her husband in their heavenly home on October 16, 2018. Luella (Lou) entered the world on August 31, 1922 in Pocahontas County. She was the tenth of eleven children, born to George and Louisa (Rudolph) Alig in Pocahontas County. She attended Sacred Heart School in Pocahontas and graduated from Ware School in 1940. She was baptized, confirmed, married, anointed and received her first communion and confession at Sacred Heart Church (Church of the Resurrection) in Pocahontas. On August 5, 1940, she married Aloysius (Al). She was a devoted and loving wife, both counting on each other and always knowing each other were their best friend. He left her on February 5, 2006, but “forgot to tell her heart how to live without him.” They were blessed with two daughters, Mary Ann and Janet Louise. She devoted her life to her family, whom she truly loved. She took great pride in her children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. She especially loved babies. She was loving, fun, witty, hardworking and generous. That mischievous twinkle could be seen in her eyes. Her grandchildren referred to her lovingly as the “spunky grandma.” She loved holidays, going to school events and playing cards. Shopping and her phone, being an all time favorite. She had a love for the outdoors and her land. She and her husband, worked side by side with farming. She enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables, as well as working on the lawn. Even in later years, she would be canning tomatoes. When they retired, Al and Luella traveled to the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, Europe and every state in US except 3 in the NW. She enjoyed playing blackjack, bingo, scratch tickets, and going to the casinos. She belonged to the Catholic Order of Foresters, Ladies Society, St. Peter and Paul Historical Society and neighborhood card club.
