Description	:	Lydia B. Pettet was born in Sheboygan County, Wisconsin, September 15th, 1851, and died at her home near Venus, Nebraska, April 10th, 1924, at the age of 72 years, 6 months and 26 days. She was married to Loren S. Vrooman on November 3rd, 1872 and came to Knox county, Nebraska, in 1881 where she has resided since that time. She leaves to mourn their loss seven children, all of whom survive her. There is also two brothers, four sisters, twenty-one grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was married to Loren S. Vrooman on November 3rd, 1872 and came to Knox county, Nebraska, in 1881 where she has resided since that time. She leaves to mourn their loss seven children, all of whom survive her. There is also two brothers, four sisters, twenty-one grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Her children are: Herbert D. and Frank F. who reside on the old home farm, Cora E. Clyde, of Page, Milo G., Roy M., Lorin S. and Charley A., all of Eagle Butte, South Dakota. At about the age of twelve she gave her heart to God and ever since that time she has lived a true and faithful Christian life. She was never happier than when doing a kindness for others. In the pioneer days she was a zealous helper in the work of the church and Sunday School and although she was in poor health her children were always in the Sunday school. She was always willing and ready to help a friend or neighbor in time of sickness and lived to be a blessing to the community in which she lived. Funeral services were held at the Venus church, Tuesday afternoon, at two o'clock conducted by Rev. McGaughey, of Page, and interment made in the Enterprise cemetery beside her husband.
