Description	:	Ellen Pettet Blain, the daughter of David and Betsy Pettet was born March 9, 1870 at Ironton, Wisconsin and departed this life September 9, 1965 at her home in the Middlebranch Community, in Holt County at the age of 95 years and 6 months. In 1880, the Pettet family moved to the Venus community, where on October 29, 1890, she was united in marriage to Charlie Blain, and came to the Middlebranch community, which has been the family home most of the years since that time. Read More	Ellen Pettet Blain, the daughter of David and Betsy Pettet was born March 9, 1870 at Ironton, Wisconsin and departed this life September 9, 1965 at her home in the Middlebranch Community, in Holt County at the age of 95 years and 6 months. In 1880, the Pettet family moved to the Venus community, where on October 29, 1890, she was united in marriage to Charlie Blain, and came to the Middlebranch community, which has been the family home most of the years since that time. To this union were born 9 children, four of whom survive her passing. Survivors include; four children, Harold of Page, Nebraska; Homer of Orchard, Nebr.; Mary Huston of Page, Nebr.; and Carlie Andre of Stapleton, Nebr.; one sister, Mrs. Lavina Frnch of Los Angeles, Calif.; 19 grandchildren, 34 great [grandchildren] and [ ] nephews and nieces. She was cared for in her home the past 9 years by her daughter, Mary, and for the past 3 1/2 years she has been confined to a wheelchair, but attended church regularly when ever she was able. Although she was weary of the physical inactivity, forced upon her by declining years she awaited the Lord's time for her home going, with cheerful patience and eager anticipation. Apparently, she had a stroke from which she did not recover, and passed from this life on September 9 to her heavenly reward. [Orchard News; Orchard, Nebraska; 17 Sep 1965].
