Description	:	Mrs. Mabel Irene Smith Creed, 78 of Mt. Airy went to her Heavenly home on Friday, September 19, 2014. She was born in Surry County on April 11, 1936 to the late Farley and Cleo Golding Smith. Mrs. Creed retired from Spencer’s and was a faithful member of White Plains Baptist Church. She was truly a virtuous woman who will be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memories are her faithful husband, Rev. Roscoe J. Airy went to her Heavenly home on Friday, September 19, 2014. She was born in Surry County on April 11, 1936 to the late Farley and Cleo Golding Smith. Mrs. Creed retired from Spencer’s and was a faithful member of White Plains Baptist Church. She was truly a virtuous woman who will be missed by all who knew her. Left to cherish her memories are her faithful husband, Rev. Roscoe J. Creed of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Betty Gail Creed of Cottonwood, AL. and Rev. Garry and Robin Creed of Blackstone, VA; two daughters and sons-in-law Revonda and Wade Ray of Middlesburg, FL. and Theresa and David Shockley of Fuquay-Varina, NC, nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Edna Hanks and Mary Jane and Wade Hawks all of Mt. Airy; two brothers, Willie Smith and Bruce Hawks both of Mt. Airy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Creed was preceded in death by her step-father, John Hawks; a sister, Myrtle Jones and a brother, Rufus Smith. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at White Plains Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Norman officiating, assisted by, Rev. Bill Tucker, Rev. David Tucker and Rev. Tom Delph. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday, September 22, 2014.
