Description	:	Mrs. Walter (Mabel) Gordon, 77, Meriden, died Saturday morning in Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital, Cherokee, after a 13-month illness. Mrs. Gordon had been a resident of Cherokee County for 68 years. Mabel Munster was born November 27, 1899 in Davenport to Mr. and Mrs. William J. Munster. On January 17, 1920, she married Walter Thomas Gordon in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cherokee, Iowa. The couple farmed near here until Mr. Gordon's death in 1954. Mrs. Gordon had been a resident of Cherokee County for 68 years. Mabel Munster was born November 27, 1899 in Davenport to Mr. and Mrs. William J. Munster. On January 17, 1920, she married Walter Thomas Gordon in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Cherokee, Iowa. The couple farmed near here until Mr. Gordon's death in 1954. Mrs. Gordon moved her in 1962. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America and the Golden Age Club of Meriden. Survivors include sons, Kenneth and Walter, both of Meriden, Vernon and William, both of Cherokee; daughters Mrs. Robert (Mabel) Parrott, Aurelia; Mrs. Lyle (Mary Boneta) Lavin Sheboygan, Wis; Mrs. James (Mary Voneta) Gill, Merdien and Mrs. Lyle (Elizabeth) Curry, Des Moines; 22 grandchilden, and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by a brother Leslie Munster and a sister Thelma Powers and a grandson in infancy. Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. The Rev. Alfred McCoy will officiate. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Greenwood Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cherokee, Iowa. Date of death: October 16, 1977.
