Several months ago, Miss Crawford contracted influenza, which resulted in complication ultimately resulting in her death at the age of 29 years, 3 months, and 27 days. - Butler County Democrat April 3, 1919 Madge Mary Bell Crawford, beloved daughter of J. N. and Lena Crawford, was born Dec 5, 1889, on the farm on which she died April 2, 1919, aged 29 years. She leaves a father, mother, and one brother. In November, 1918, she was stricken with influenza from which she never fully recovered. Her cheerful life won the respect, esteem and love of all who formed her acquaintance. Funeral services were held in the Bethel church in Hamilton. The pall bearers were six cousins, Cleve Geiger, Elmer and Walter Knapp, Paul and Josie Crawford, and Alva Bryant. - Hamilton Daily Republican News April 8, 1919
