Description	:	March 16, 1921 - May 1, 2006 MADONNA LORRAINE BERTRAND was born March 16, 1921 in Clark County, SD. She was the daughter of Alphonse Lexior and Myrtle (Mack) Bertrand. After graduating from Clark High School in 1939, Lorraine attended nurses' training in Mitchell, SD. She moved to Lemmon in 1942 to help her sister-in-law, Kathleen Bertrand, care for her children while her brother, Howard Bertrand, was overseas during World War II. Read More	March 16, 1921 - May 1, 2006 MADONNA LORRAINE BERTRAND was born March 16, 1921 in Clark County, SD. She was the daughter of Alphonse Lexior and Myrtle (Mack) Bertrand. After graduating from Clark High School in 1939, Lorraine attended nurses' training in Mitchell, SD. She moved to Lemmon in 1942 to help her sister-in-law, Kathleen Bertrand, care for her children while her brother, Howard Bertrand, was overseas during World War II. Lorraine married William Froelich of Lemmon on November 14, 1946 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lemmon. Five children were born to the union; Wendy, Patrick, Peter, Paul, and Mike. Lorraine loved her family, her friends, and her community. She was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Ladies' Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was both a stay at home mom and a licensed insurance agent. With her husband Bill, she operated the Froelich Insurance Agency for more than twenty years. She also worked for the Lemmon Clinic for several years. Lorraine enjoyed making wedding cakes for area weddings for many years. She loved to travel and visit her friends and family whenever she could. She was an accomplished artist and crafter who, among other things, make beautiful quilts for her family and friends. She was also at voracious reader, a connoisseur of fine food, and an avid bridge player. She loved parties and she loved to dance. Lorriane passed away on Monday, May 1, at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger. Lorraine is survived by her children: Wendy (Jess) Cooper, Hazen, ND; Patrick (Karen) Froelich, Lemmon, SD; Peter Froelich, Dickinson, ND; Paul Froelich, Miliken, CO; and Mike (Carla) Froelich, Castle Rock, CO; grandchildren, Jess Warbis; Nicole Heier; Danielle and Kyle Froelich; Margaret and Blanche Froelich; Chris, Laura, Kevin and Benny Froelich; and Michael and Becky Froelich; great-grandchildren, Garret Warbis; Sydney, Alex, and Emily Heier; and Nevaeh Froelich; her twin brother, Lel Bertrand, Buffalo, MN; brother and sister-in-law, John and Alice Froelich, Lemmon, SD; and several nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband Bill on October 16, 1998; her brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Kathleen Bertrand; her sister and brother-in-law, Blanche and Larry Miller, and her sister-in-law, Patricia Bertrand. Mass of Christian Burial for Lorraine Froelich, age 85, of Lemmon will be 10:30am Saturday, May 6, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Lemmon. Fr Brian Fawcett will officiate with burial in Greenhill Cemetery.
