Mae Helen Charbonneau, 17 years old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Charbonneau of Concordia was fatally hurt, Arthur E. Miss Charbonneau was fatally hurt about 1:30 Sunday morning when the car driven by Arthur Logan in which she was a passenger left US highway 81, 7 miles south of town. The car crossed a ditch, according to Highway Patrolman Don Antrim, crashed through a fence and into a field, overturning and pinning Miss Charbonneau beneath the car. The girl was alive when highway patrolmen and ambulance reached the scene of the crash, but died within a short time. Logan suffered scalp injuries and was hospitalized. His condition was reported not serious. Bill Kenyon, Leslie Eugene Wallace and Miss Dorothy Forgue wee other passengers in the car. Wallace had scalp cuts, Kenyon a slight hand injury and Miss Forgue was unhurt. Funeral services for Miss Charbonneau were held Tuesday morning at the Catholic church and burial was in Mt Calvary cemetery at Clyde. Miss Charbonneau was born in Clyde, May 21,1931 and moved to Concordia with her parents in 1943. She was employed in the diet kitchen at St Joseph Hospital. Survivors include her parent; three brothers: Levi, Arthur and Robert, of the home, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Levasseur of Kankakee, Illinois Obituary provided by g patterson (48122690)
