She suffered from a heart ailment. Mae Phillips, daughter of Samuel and Jean McAdam Raffensperger was born at the farm home southeast of Victor, July 19, 1876. After coming to Victor as a young woman, with her parents, she entered the public school, graduating with the class of 1894. On Feb. 27, 1900, she was united in marriage with Walter C. Wilkins of Victor. One daughter, Janet, was born to this union. Mr. Wilkins passed away in 1906. On Oct. 22, 1927, Mrs. Wilkins was married to Dr. D. W. Phillips, who passed away May 16, 1932. Mrs. Phillips was a lifetime resident of Victor and community with the exception of a year which she and Mr. Wilkins spent in Des Moines. Mrs. Philllips was a charter member of the Victor Woman's club, a demitted member of Victor Chapter O. E. S., an active member for many years of the First Methodist church, the ladies bible class of the Sunday school, and of the W.S.C.S. of the church. She has lived in her present home since 1927. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and a brother. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Wilkins of Victor, a step-son Earle Phillips of South Pasadena, CA., one sister, Mrs. Joseph Roushar of Victor, a sister-in-law Maude Wilkins of San Marino, CA., and several nieces.
