Mrs. Dzingle, wife of Felix Dzingle residing near Loup City, met with a frightful accident Sunday, March 3, from which death resulted. The way we have been able to gather the facts is, that on arriving home from church that day, Mr. Dzingle started a fire in the kitchen stove, which failed to make any progress, so Mrs. Dzingle poured some coal oil on the fire out of a five gallon can and a terrific explosion followed, and it was discovered that Mrs. Dzingle was frightfully burned all over her face and body and her hair burned off. A physician was immediately called, but it was soon discovered that there was absolutely no hope of her recovery and she passed away about twelve hours after the accident. The explosion was so terrific that it blew the window lights out and part of the roof off. Mrs. Dzingle was a hard working, industrious woman about 60 years of age and her tragic death is most deplorable. The funeral services were held Tuesday morning March 5, from the St. Josaphat Catholic church and the remains laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery near town. John Dzingle, who is serving in the army at Camp Funston, arrived in time for the funeral, having been granted a furlough. Name acquired from death records at negenweb.net/NESherman/deaths.html
