Description	:	HOLBOOK - Mrs. Mahala I. Lindley, 62, a former resident. of the rural section north of here, passed away early Tuesday morning at the home of her son, Cecil, in San Francisco, after an illness of about ten months. The body was brought to Holbrook Friday by another son, Roy, who had been with his mother since last October. Funeral services were held from the Methodist church Sunday afternoon with the Rev. T. M. Pallbearers were Arthur Stagemeyer, Lester Dwinell, Allen Rosenfelt, William Hilker, Charles Hilker and Bert Hilker. Interment was In the family lot at Holbrook. Obituary Mahala I. Baxter was born at Claremont, Missouri, July 29. 1878. She came to F'urnas county with her parents in 1886, where she spent the greater part of her life. She moved to San Francisco, California, in 1936, where she departed this life February 4th at 9:20 a. m. at the home of her son. Cecil after a lingering illness of ten months. She had attained the age of 62 years. 8 months, and 3 days. She was united in marriage to Cllnton D, Lindley at Holbrook, Nebraska, Januaary 26. 1898. To this union were born six children, 4 sons and 2 daughters. Her husband and. A son, Russel, preceded her in death. Her family was all at her bedside except one son, when the end came, She was a kind and loving mother and faithful wife and will be missed by all who knew and loved her, She leaves to mourn her loss a daughter, Mrs, G. E. Parmenter of San Francisco, California; two sons, Roy and Ben of Holbrook, a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Cook. San Bruno, California: a son, Cecil, also of San Francisco, and the grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers besides a host of other relatives and. friends. She was a. member of the Royal Neighbor lodge of Holbrook, a member of the Church or God of San Francisco, California, and took an active Part in the social and religious welfare of the community.
