Read More	Harlan County Journal, Alma Nebr., Oct 24, 1957 Mamie Eleanor Husband Mamie Elennor Seberg, oldest child of John and Sarah Seberg, was born December 21, 1871 in Henderson County, Illinois, and departed this life to meet her Savior on October 18, 1957, at Memorial hospital in Alma Nebraska. She had reached the age of 85 years, 9 months and 27 days. When she was still quite young she moved with her parents to Henry County, Iowa, where she spent a joyous childhood with her family amoung relatives and friends. In January 1884, the family moved still further west and settled on a large farm in Kearney County, Nebraska where she grew to womanhood in a new country on the plains. On January 9, 1894, she was united in marriage to John Riley Husband at Axtell, Nebraska. Here they started housekeeping where her husband was employed in the brick-mason trade. The next year, however, they moved to a farm in Rooks County, Kansas, living there untill 1899, when they came to a farm near Republican City, Nebraska. They resided there two years before moving to a farm near her parents at Upland, Nebraska. In 1903 they left the farm and moved to Alma, Nebraska, where her husband again took up his trade as a bricklayer. The reamining years of her life have been spent in Alma. Mrs. Husband was converted in 1891, and joined the Methodist Episcopal church in Axtell. In 1905 she has her membership transferred to the Medothist church in Alma. She has been an active member as long as she was physically able, having served many years as a Sunday School teacher, and worker in the Missionary and Womans' Society of Christian Service of her church. At the time of their marriage she and her husband set up the family alter and all her life that practice had been continued. Mr. and Mrs. Husband had seven children, all of whom survive: Lula Bright and Vernon Husband, both of North Platte, Nebr.; Grace Imhof of Selden, Kansas; Nancy Ibsen of Atlanta, Nebr.; Iva Husband of Alma, Nebr.; Gilbert Husband of Santa Ana, Calif.; and Pearle Husband of Tuolumne, Calif. Her husband passed away on March 18, 1932, and she had made her home with her daughter, Iva, for several years. In addition to her children, she leaves to mourn her passing, two sisters, Mrs. Mattie Christiansen of Holdrege, Nebr. and Mrs. Hattie Christiansen of Stromsburg, Nebr.; two brother, Lewis Seberg of Elwood, Nebr. and Henry Seberg of Pequot Lakes, Minn.; three sons-in-law and three daughters-in-law; twelve grandchildren; six great granchildren; other relatives and a host of friends. Interment was in the Alma Cemetery.
