Daughter of John Hagen and Mary Behmen OBITUARY THE CHARITON LEADER Chariton, Iowa Tuesday, December 17, 1957 MARGARET HAGEN WHITE Margaret Hagen White, daughter of John and Mary Hagen, was born on Dec. 8, 1884, at Sunman, Ind., and passed suddenly to her eternal reward on Dec. 5, 1957, at the age of 72 years, 11 months and 27 days. Her early childhood was spent at Sunman, Ind. At the age of five she moved with her parents to Iowa, settling in the Weller community in Monroe county, where she also received her schooling. In 1900 she moved to Lucas county. On April 5, 1905, she was married to Mr. Lawrence White. The Whites made their home in the Bethel community near Russell. To this union two sons were born, Basal of Knoxville and Harold of River Grove, Ill. In her family circle her parents and three brothers, Harry, Leonard and Everett, preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband, two sons, five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, a brother, Fred of Chicago Heights, Ill., and two sisters, Alice of Yuma, Colo., and Ollie of Le Grand, Ore., many other relatives and many friends. Mrs. White was active in the work of the church. The days of her childhood and youth were spent in the fellowship of the Lutheran church. Later, she became a member of Bethel Evangelical United Brethren church. She is remembered by many as a faithful Sunday school teacher and talented pianist, often composing her own music for many children's programs. Funeral services were held at the Beardsley Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. The Rev. Mr. Trusheim of the Bethel E.U.B. church officiated. Interment was at Bethel cemetery.
