Read More	Glasco Sun, May 25, 1950, page 1: Obituary of Margaret Ann Cooper Margaret Ann Cooper, daughter of Levi and Sarah Davidson, was born at Bushnell, Illinois, on June 3, 1865, and departed this life on May 17, 1950, at 2:30 a.m. at the home of her son, Garrett Cooper, in Glasco, Kansas, having reached the age of 84 years, 11 months and 14 days. Mrs. Cooper made her home with Garrett for the past five years. Mrs. Cooper came to Kansas in 1875 from Illinois with her parents when she was eleven years of age, and has resided in Cloud county until the time of her death. At the Methodist parsonage in Simpson, Kansas, on December 18, 1897, she was united in marriage to John A. Cooper, and to this union eight children were born: Kathryn, Roy, Ralph, Nellie, Garrett and Jay --- a son, Johnnie, and a daughter, May, as well as her husband, preceded her in death. Mr. and Mrs. Cooper spent their married life in the great out-of-doors as tillers of the soil, living the last number of years on a farm three miles west of Glasco. Many years ago she was baptized by the pastor of the church in Asherville, Kansas, and was deeply interested in the life and work of the Methodist church, sincerely appreciating the pastoral care given her by its ministers. Finding it difficult to attend the services of the church, she always tuned in her radio for the sermons of the religious programs. She often remarked that the day never seemed just right without the sermon. She was prepared and most willing to depart this life to be ever present with her Lord. She was a devoted wife and mother, ever inciting those around her toward the better things of life. She was industrious, always happy to have a part in the duties and responsibilities relating to the home. Those who mourn her departure are: her six children: Mrs. Kathryn Porter, of Oakland, California; Roy Cooper of Beloit; Ralph Cooper of Roseburg, Oregon; Mrs. Nellie Thomas, of Salina, Kansas; Garrett A. Cooper and Jay Cooper, of Glasco, Kansas; one step-daughter, Mrs. Sadie Nay, of Yorblinda, California; 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, May 20th, at 2:00 o'clock at the Griffith Funeral Home, with the Rev. C.H. Larson officiating. Interment was in Glasco Cemetery, in charge of the Griffith Funeral Home.
