She married Jacob Waller, of Rowan County, North Carolina on 15 May 1849 in Rowan County, North Carolina. They were married for thirteen years prior to Jacob's departure to serve in the Civil War. They accomplished much in those thirteen short years. The family farm was prosperous, and they were blessed with four sons and 1 daughter. Jacob received multiple war injuries from which he recovered. Sadly he was one of the many soldiers in the Civil War became ill with Typhoid Fever. He was sent home shortly before the end of the Civil War, and died on 2 April 1862. Margaret lived forty years beyond her husband's death. She bravely raised her family of five children alone. She never remarried. She lived with eldest son, Adam Peter Waller throughout her life, and once can imagine that she gleaned much joy from her children and grandchildren. Margaret's burial site is not certain, but her son, Adam Peter Waller and his wife Sarah are buried in the Lebanon Lutheran Church Cemetery, so it is likely that Margaret is buried here as well.
