Gilmore was born Sept. 24, 1842, near Stewartville, Dekalb county, Missouri, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. O. L. Grundy, on May 9, 1924, age 81 years, 7 months and 15 days. Gilmore was born Sept. 24, 1842, near Stewartville, Dekalb county, Missouri, and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. O. L. Grundy, on May 9, 1924, age 81 years, 7 months and 15 days. She was the twelfth child of Samuel and Peggy Gilmore and the last of the 13 children to cross the valley of death. On Dec. 25, 1871, she was united in marriage to Tilman H. Carroll and to this union were born six children, two of which have preceded her in death, namely William Henry and Tilman, Jr. The living are Josie Coy, Elwood, Kansas; Jerome T., Enid, Okla.; Dora Linn, Silverton, Ore.; and Kate Grundy, Fort Benton. She is also survived by her husband, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Carroll had been a member of the Methodist church for many years. Her entire life, with the exception of the past eight years, was spent in the vicinity of her childhood home. The hardships of her family endured through the Civil War and the pioneer days of Missouri were ever fresh in her memory and she could related incidents of those days with remarkable clearness of memory. She will be greatly missed by her relatives and family for whom she had always a cheerful greeting. Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Sunday, May 11. Interment was made in Riverside Cemetery. ..........
