Description	:	Marguerite Ball Ormesher (1843- August 26, 1921) Maurguerite Ormesher, one of the oldest residents of this part of Cherry County, died suddenly of heart failure this morning following a long illness. The deceased who is past 80 years old has been a resident of Valentine for the past few years and has made her home with her daughter here. This morning she ate a more hearty breakfast than usual and was apparently in the best of spirits. The end came suddenly and unexpectedly. Mrs. Ormesher is survived by several children. Read More	Marguerite Ball Ormesher (1843- August 26, 1921) Maurguerite Ormesher, one of the oldest residents of this part of Cherry County, died suddenly of heart failure this morning following a long illness. The deceased who is past 80 years old has been a resident of Valentine for the past few years and has made her home with her daughter here. This morning she ate a more hearty breakfast than usual and was apparently in the best of spirits. The end came suddenly and unexpectedly. Mrs. Ormesher is survived by several children. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago while they were on a visit to their old home in England. Funeral will be from St. John's Church at 2 p. m. Sunday. [The source of this information is James Russell Ormesher. He adds: My comment: Margaret Ball ( Marguerite) at age 77 was buried in Mount Hope cemetery at Valentine beside Edward Ormesher, the man who carried her through the creek to elope from her father's comfortable English estate. Together she and Edward in 1883 crossed the Atlantic by ship and half of America by train and wagon with their brood of four children. On the Niobrara River and Schlegle Creek they lived the rugged life of Nebraska Pioneers. She saw a wild and empty land become populated and productive over the years. She raised three sons who were real American cowboys, John, Henry and Ted , and saw them become successful ranchers as they matured. She saw her Edward progress from a stable boy in England to a respected and successful frontier rancher. Sadly, her last trip with Edward was to retrace her way 4,000 miles from Wigan, England to Valentine, Nebraska, accompanying his coffin. By almost any measure, it is fair to say that her life was an unusual adventure.]
