D. Mitchell, long-time resident of Jefferson county, passed away Thursday at 10:20 p.m. at the Curtis Nursing home where she was a patient. She had been in failing health the past year. Last rites will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hoskins funerral home with the Rev. S.P. Williamson in charge. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Margaret A. Mitchell, 90, was born March 16, 1865, in Ohio, the daughter of the late George and Mary McCumber. She came to Jefferson county when a child. She was united in marriage to Ed Rowley who passed away many years ago. She was later married to J. D. Mitchell on Oct. 15, 1890. He passed away August 30, 1936. Mrs. Mitchell was a member of the Presbyterian church and the Royal Neighbors. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Mildred Bean, Rhodondo Beach, Del.; and a son, Robert of Burlington. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and 13, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Truman Rowley and T. D. Mitchell, and two other children in infancy.
