Description	:	Elsie Simpson Foster, 90, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, April 17, 1999, in the Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center. Born June 18, 1908, in Buena Vista, daughter of the late L.B. Simpson and Ocie Simpson Chittum, she was retired from Bernson Silk Mill as an inspector. She was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren where she was a past president of the Women's Bible Class, a member of the Women's Fellowship and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert A. "Mookey" Foster; her son, James H. Foster; two... Read More	Elsie Simpson Foster, 90, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, April 17, 1999, in the Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center. Born June 18, 1908, in Buena Vista, daughter of the late L.B. Simpson and Ocie Simpson Chittum, she was retired from Bernson Silk Mill as an inspector. She was a member of the Stone Church of the Brethren where she was a past president of the Women's Bible Class, a member of the Women's Fellowship and a former member of the Rebekah Lodge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert A. "Mookey" Foster; her son, James H. Foster; two sisters; and two brothers. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Margaret Anne and Marshall Smith of Buena Vista; daughter-in-law, Martha Grae Foster of Richmond; five grandchildren, Patricia Smith Brown of Bedford, S. Mark Smith of Greenville, Dr. J. Daniel Foster of Richmond, G. Dean Foster of Midlothian, Beverly Foster MacDowell of Richmond; and 13 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 1999, in the Stone Church of the Brethren with Rev. Chester Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends on Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Lomax Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the Stone Church of the Brethren, Stain Glass Window Fund.
