Pallbearers were six grandsons, Kenneth, Roland and Clarence Marty, Paul Johannes, Arthur and Allen Wilke. Burial was made in Christ Lutheran cemetery south of Leigh. Mary Brock was born Nov. 14, 1870, on a farm 10 miles southwest of Leigh to Mr. and Mrs. Johann Brock. She passed away at her home in Leigh Friday, Nov. 14, after a long illness. She grew to womanhood in the community in which she was born and on June 7, 1890, she was married to Gottfried Marty at Christ Lutheran church. Twelve children were born to this union, six sons and six daughters, 10 of whom survive. They are Gottfried and Walter of Columbus, Emil of Sioux City, Ia., Arthur and Otto of Leigh, Mrs. Clara Johannes of Columbus, Mrs. Marie Wilke of Richland, Mrs. Anna Buelow of Fresno, Calif., Mrs. Rose Ludwig and Miss Irma Marty of Leigh. She is also survived by 31 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Mathilda, who died in infancy and a son, Ernest, who passed away in February, 1943. Mr. and Mrs. Marty engaged in farming southwest of Leigh until 1943, when they retired and moved to Leigh. On June 7, 1939, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. Relatives from out-of-town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Gottfried Marty, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Marty and children, Mr. and Mrs. Walter K. Marty, Wm. Johannes, Mr. and Mrs. Alan Ahrens and Robert, Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Aerni, Fred Raymond, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Marty, Mr. and Mrs. Donald Engel, Mrs. T. H. Edmison, all of Columbus, E.A. Marty of Sioux City, Ia., Mrs. Marie Wilke of Richland and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Morlok of Madison.
