Description	:	Gottfried E. Marty, 76, of 2315 19th Street, died Saturday at West Haven Nursing Home in Genoa. He had been in failing health the past few months. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. A. H. Guettler at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, and burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery. He had also been employed by the T.B. Hord Grain Company and the Irrigation Pump Company. Son of the late Gottfried and Marie Brock Marty, he was born May 4, 1890, on a farm south of Leigh. He was married to E. Wilhelmine Wurdemann Feb. 18, 1917, and they observed their golden wedding anniversary this year. Mr. Marty was a voting member of Immanuel Lutheran church. Until 1940, he was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, northeast of Columbus, where he was baptized and confirmed. He had been affiliated with the Lutheran Laymen's League. Surviving are his wife and five children: Mrs. Allen (Louise) Ahrens, Mrs. Philip (Alvina) Aerni, Mrs. Fred (Mabel) Raymond and Mrs. Don (Elaine) Engel, all of Columbus; and Clarence (Marian) of Elgin, Ill. Other survivors include 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Walter of Columbus, Arthur of Leigh and Otto of Fresno, Calif.; five sisters, Mrs. William (Clara) Johannes, Mrs. Rudolph (Marie) Wilke, Mrs. Walter (Rose) Ludwig and Irma Marty, all of Columbus, and Mrs. Carl (Anna) Buelow of Fresno, Calif. His parents, sister Mathilda, and two brothers, Ernest and Emil, preceded him in death.
