She was born to Robert I. and Doris (McCoy) Murphy on Nov. 21, 1942 near Tecumseh, NE. She was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Page, NE. She and her mother lived with her grandparents in Page while her father served in WWII and for a period of time after he was killed in action. They then moved to Lincoln when she was 2. Marian and her mom returned to the Tecumseh area when her mother married George Lillich. She attended 8th grade at Hazel Green School. She was confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church , rural Elk Creek, NE. in 1957 and remained a member until her death. She graduated from Elk Creek High School in 1960. Marian married Lloyd Beethe on Oct. 8, 1961 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church and lived on their farm south of Tecumseh. To this union 3 children were born: Allan, Rhonda and Mark. Lloyd and Marian moved to their current home east of Tecumseh in 1998. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 8, 2011. at their home place with many family and friends. Marian graduated from Peru State College in 1990 with a degree in business. She worked at and co-owned Beethe Construction and also employed by State of Ne. Job Training of Greater Nebraska. Most recently she was employed by the Nebraska State Department of Agriculture Farm Mediating and Beginning Farmer Programs. In 2012 she was recongnized as the Department of Agriculture supervisor/manager of the year. She is survived by her husband, Lloyd of Tecumseh; children; Allan Beethe and wife Carolyn of Tecumseh, and their children, Andrew, Carrie and Ashley. Rhonda Beethe of Romeoville, IL. Mark Beethe and wife Jane of Exeter and their children Hannah and Jackson. brother, Steven Lillich and wife Julie of Lincoln; sisters, Joan Peters and husgand Jeff of Elk Creeek and June Stratman and husband Bernie of Hildreth; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Murphy and mother and step-father, Doris and George LIllich. Funeral services held at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church, rural Elk Creek, NE. April 20, 2013 with Rev. Robert Schermbeck officiating. Pallbearers: Shannon Peters, Joshua Peters, Chris Stratman, Leah Cavanaugh, Jacob Lillich, Emily Lillich, Heather Busboom and Danielle Kite. Honorary pallbearers werre Andrew, Carrie, Ashley, Hannah and Jackson Beethe. Interment was in the St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery. rural Elk Creek, NE.
