Description	:	Marie Bower was adopted at about age 8 or 9, and raised by J.E. and Leonora Bower In Helena Montana, after their three-year-old daughter had died some years earlier. In the summer after J.E. Bower had passed away, Marie and Leonora attended a church sponsored singing recital, performed by Mabel Claire Norris. Marie stayed after, and met the singer. In the summer after J.E. Bower had passed away, Marie and Leonora attended a church sponsored singing recital, performed by Mabel Claire Norris. Marie stayed after, and met the singer. Marie then introduced her brother, Ed, to his future wife, Mabel Claire, and was Maid of Honor at their wedding in 1927. At some point after this, Marie went to the East Coast to attend a school, and became estranged from the family. She was married to Charles L. Clark, of Pennsylvania, in March of 1939. A marriage document and Census data indicate they were married and resided in California. They had no known children. She resided in Pittsburg in the mid 1950s. At some point in 1955, Marie filed suit against the estate of her mother Leonora, who passed away in Sept. of '54. Her brother died in Sept. of '55. She received a settlement in Dec. 1957, which was used to purchase a tavern in Helena, Montana. Charles died of a heart attack in March of 1958, four months into tavern ownership. Not much more is known about Marie, except that she was a patient for a time at Warm Springs State Hospital in Montana in the late 1960's. Marie died in a nursing home in Livingston, Montana. Her death certificate lists Marie's occupation as 'teacher', and her cause of death as Alzheimer's disease, complicated by pneumonia.
