Description	:	Marion Douglas Pollock of Fairmont, Nebraska, was called to her eternal reward November 3, 1920. She was born at Larkhall, Lanakshire, Scotland, June 6, 1858, where she spent her early childhood and youth. At eighteen years of age, she came to America and located near Polo, Illinois, and on March 2, 1881, was married to David A. Pollock of Sterling. Read More	Marion Douglas Pollock of Fairmont, Nebraska, was called to her eternal reward November 3, 1920. She was born at Larkhall, Lanakshire, Scotland, June 6, 1858, where she spent her early childhood and youth. At eighteen years of age, she came to America and located near Polo, Illinois, and on March 2, 1881, was married to David A. Pollock of Sterling. Four years later, they moved to the present home southeast of Fairmont. Converted in her early youth, she was a member of the Established Church of Scotland, and was received into the First Presbyterian church of Fairmont in 1906. Mrs. Pollock was a true, conscientious Christian, loyal to the purpose she served, and so stamped her beautiful character and conduct on those who knew her that she, being dead, yet speaks in her influence which remains a blessing to her many friends. She lived her religion simply, humbly, gladly and her friends could not fail to note that she "had been with her Master." Her going away was quiet and peaceful. Although she had suffered from heart trouble for many months, she bore her affliction with patience until the end. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and eight children: Mrs. Mamie J. Kemp, Mrs. Elizabeth Hutton of College Park, Maryland; Mrs. Jeannette M. Taylor, Miss Winifred B. Pollock, George G. Pollock of Omaha; Mrs. Grace L. Foulon, Royce D. Pollock and David L. Pollock of Fairmont; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Koberstein of Sterling, Illinois, and two brothers, William Douglas and James Douglas in Scotland; also eight grandchildren. Three sisters and two brothers have preceded her to the higher life beyond. Funeral services were conducted by her pastor, Rev. J.M. Norris, the text being "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of Righteousness, which the Lord, the Righteous Judge, shall give me at that day; and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing." The body was laid to rest in the Fairmont cemetery, beneath the flowers of those who loved her with a love far more beautiful than the roses they heaped around her. Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Joe Koberstein of Sterling, Illinois; Mr. and Mrs. John Pollock of Beatrice, Nebraska; Mr. and Mrs. B.N. Kemp and Mildred Kemp, Mr. and Mrs. George Niehaus and daughters and Mrs. Sarah A. Hutton of Lincoln. There were also many friends from neighboring towns present. Pollock died at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln, at 2 o'clock Wednesday morning of heart trouble, after an illness covering several months. The body was brought to Fairmont on train No. 5 Wednesday and taken to the home of her daughter, Mrs. F.M. Kemp. Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church Friday at 2:30 p.m., with interment in the Fairmont cemetery.
