Read More	Mamie Jane Pollock was born March 6, 1882, in Eagle Point township, Ogle county, Illinois, the first child of David and Marion Douglas Pollock. She departed this life November 1, 1952, at the age of 70 year, 7 months and 26 days. Her first years were spent in Illinois. At the age of four, she came with her family to live in Madison township, Fillmore county, Nebraska. Upon her graduation from Fairmont high school, she was employed as one of the first bookkeepers with the Fairmont Creamery. Mrs Kemp was a member of a family of eight children; five of whom are living. Her mother, father, a brother, George and a sister, Grace, preceded her in death. Three sisters and two brothers survive: Mrs. Elizabeth Pollock Hutton of Hyattsville, Md., Mrs. Nettie Taylor of Fairmont, Miss Winifred Pollock of Blackfoot, Idaho; Royce Pollock of Omaha and David Pollock of San Pedro, Cal. She was united in marriage July 24, 1907, to Francis Mahlon Kemp of Fairmont. To this union three children were given, Francis M. Kemp of Las Vegas, Nev., Richard Pollock Kemp of Los Angeles, Cal., and Marion Elizabeth Karnes of Omaha. The family greatly missed their father and husband, who preceded Mrs. Kemp in death, December 25, 1930. Early in life, Mrs. Kemp became a member of the Presbyterian church, and throughout her life-time was a devout Christian, deriving much satisfaction from her many and varied church activities. She was a member of Chapter AM of the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was devoted to her family and will be missed greatly by her children. She will ever be an inspiration to them and to her many friends. Funeral services were held in the Federated church, Wednesday afternoon, November 5, with Rev. Willard Payne, the pastor, officiating. Music was furnished by Virginia Brown, with Mrs. Mildred Starks Dean as accompanist. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery. Pallbearer were Hubert McClellan, Bud Cook, William K. Brown, George White, Harry Smith and Willard Goodrich. Fillmore Chronicle (Fairmont) November 13th, 1952 page 1.
